Tech stack & purpose

Vale is a command-line linter for prose that brings code-like linting capabilities to writing, with support for multiple markup formats including Markdown, AsciiDoc, reStructuredText, HTML, XML, and Org. Built with Go and designed for speed and extensibility, Vale allows users to enforce custom style rules through a YAML-based extension system, making it suitable for enforcing both standard editorial style guides and in-house writing standards. The tool is cross-platform, runs as a standalone binary without requiring additional language runtime dependencies, and is developed by an individual contributor, @jdkato, under an MIT license.
