Tech stack & purpose
Crush is a terminal-based AI coding assistant built in Go by Charm that connects to large language models and equips them with tools to read, write, and execute code. It supports multiple LLM providers including Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, Bedrock, Copilot, and others, and integrates with language servers for code intelligence alongside extensibility via MCP servers and agent skills. The project is configured through Bash-based scripts using Crush-specific builtins, with SQLite providing persistence, the Bubble Tea v2 framework powering its terminal UI, and the Fantasy library abstracting differences between various LLM providers. Crush is designed around patterns like config-as-a-service, self-documenting tools, Go-templated system prompts, and shell-based hooks that fire before tool execution.
