Tech stack & purpose

JetBrains Mono is a free, open-source typeface designed specifically for developers, created by JetBrains. The font features eight styles ranging from Thin to ExtraBold, each with an italic variant, and includes OpenType features and programming ligatures that can be toggled on or off. It is built with support for distinctive symbol rendering and increased x-height to improve readability in code editors, and is available as a standalone download as well as bundled in all JetBrains IDEs. The project can be built from source using Python 3.9.5 or higher with gftools and fonttools, and is licensed under OFL-1.1 for the typeface and Apache 2.0 for the source code.
