Tech stack & purpose

Scalus is a production-ready smart contract and decentralized application (dApp) development platform for Cardano, built by Lantr Engineering. It compiles a subset of Scala 3 to Scalus Intermediate Representation (SIR) and then lowers to Untyped Plutus Core (UPLC), the language of Cardano smart contracts. The platform provides an integrated development stack covering the full lifecycle—from writing validators and building transactions to testing, debugging, optimizing, generating CIP-57 blueprints, and deploying on Cardano. Scalus targets multiple platforms including JVM, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Native, enabling teams to use the same Cardano model across on-chain validators, backend services, browser tooling, and local test infrastructure.
