Tech stack & purpose

CIVS is a Condorcet Internet Voting System built in Perl as a web application for conducting online elections and polls. Created by Andrew C. Myers and maintained at Cornell University, the open-source software enables users to set up their own voting servers or use the existing instance running at Cornell. The system supports multi-question polls with features including write-in options, ballot management, results tabulation using Condorcet voting methods, and multilingual support, with comprehensive test suites covering both client-side JavaScript functionality and server-side Perl CGI scripts.
