The project provides runtime libraries including libintl (a portable variant of GNU libc's intl functionality) and libasprintf, which brings C formatted output routines to C++ programs while avoiding buffer overruns and memory leaks. The repository also contains extensive examples demonstrating gettext integration across dozens of programming languages and environments—including C, C++, Python, Java, Go, Rust, and others—as well as tools for machine translation integration using locally-running language models.
