Tech stack & purpose

Career-ops is an open-source AI-powered job search automation system built by santifer for evaluating job offers, generating tailored CVs, and tracking applications. It runs locally within AI coding CLIs including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, OpenCode, Qwen, Copilot, Kimi, and others that follow the open agent skill standard. The system scans job portals (including Greenhouse, Ashby, Lever, Workday, iCIMS, and German public sector portals), scores listings using a structured A-F rubric converted to a 1.0–5.0 scale, and helps users manage the entire job search pipeline with features like deduplication, liveness checking, follow-up tracking, and outcome recording. Built in Go and Node.js with support for multiple language markets (including German-specific modes), career-ops is designed to remain under user control—users can customize archetypes, scoring, CV templates, and workflows by editing markdown and YAML files, while the system distinguishes between user-layer files (CV, profile, tracker, reports) that never auto-update and system-layer files that can be updated without overwriting personalization.
