A wayland compositor to explore 3D windowing
Browse cluster: Cluster 84 →Motorcar is a Wayland compositor framework for exploring 3D windowing, originally developed for a Master's thesis at Cal Poly. It provides 3D windowing infrastructure that allows 3D applications to draw content with desktop flexibility while supporting unmodified Wayland applications in the same 3D compositor space. The project is built on Qt5 with QtWayland, requiring Wayland, Mesa, Cairo, and EGL support with desktop OpenGL, and includes example compositors such as one designed for the Oculus Rift DK2 with Razer Hydra input as well as a simple demo compositor and client application.
