Carp is a statically typed Lisp designed for interactive and performance-sensitive applications like games, sound synthesis, and visualizations. It features automatic and deterministic memory management without a garbage collector, inferred static types, ownership tracking that enables functional programming while allowing efficient mutation, and explicit control over allocation and copying. The language integrates straightforwardly with existing C code and includes Lisp macros, compile-time scripting, and a REPL. Carp is maintained by Erik Svedäng, Veit Heller, Jorge Acereda, Scott Olsen, and Tim Dévé.
