Tech stack & purpose

Harbor is an open source trusted cloud native registry project hosted by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation that stores, signs, and scans container images and Helm charts. Built in Go and designed for cloud native environments, Harbor extends Docker Distribution with security, identity management, and administrative features including role-based access control, vulnerability scanning, policy-based image replication, LDAP/AD and OIDC authentication, and RESTful APIs. The project supports deployment via Docker Compose, Helm charts, or a Kubernetes Operator, and includes tools for backup and restore operations as well as Grafana dashboard integration for metrics visualization.
