Tech stack & purpose

Slipshow is an engine for creating scrolling presentations compiled from a Markdown-based format to standalone HTML viewable offline in any web browser. Rather than traditional slides, Slipshow uses "slips"—content areas with no bottom limit that can be scrolled through during presentation. The platform enables presenters to record hand-drawings that play back during talks, include and execute custom scripts by steps for animation or interaction, and present content that flows continuously rather than jumping between discrete slides. Slipshow is built with OCaml using the js_of_ocaml compiler for browser compatibility, and its development is sponsored by the NLNet Foundation through the NGI Commons Fund with support from the European Commission.
