The implementation provides three interchangeable graphics backends—the OCaml Graphics library, TSDL (SDL bindings), and Raylib—allowing users to choose based on their preferences for user experience and build complexity. The game faithfully recreates the original's physics, graphics, animations, sound, and music, featuring all 40 levels from the first two Boulder Dash games with support for five difficulty levels and pause-and-play mechanics. The codebase is organized around core modules for game logic (Cave, Levels, Physics, Game), rendering, sound, and input handling, with the architecture functorized over the choice of graphics backend.
