Tech stack & purpose

Koop is a Node.js server platform for transforming, querying, and downloading geospatial data on the web. It operates in the geospatial data and ETL domain, providing tools to work with GeoJSON feature collections and expose them through web APIs compatible with the ArcGIS GeoServices specification. The project is built with Node.js and Express, includes a pluggable architecture for data providers and output formats, and comes with an in-memory cache, a FeatureServer implementation, and CORS and compression middleware by default. Koop is maintained by Esri, as evidenced by the contributing guidelines and Apache 2.0 license references in the documentation.
