A statically-typed, functional typesetting system
SATySFi is a statically-typed, functional typesetting system that combines a text layer with LaTeX-like syntax and a program layer with OCaml-like syntax, enabling users to write documents with custom commands and benefit from informative type error reporting. Built primarily in OCaml, the system generates PDF output and supports OpenType fonts, with installation managed through OPAM package management. The project was initially supported by the IPA Mitou Project from June 2017 to February 2018, later backed by Dwango Co., Ltd., and continues to be developed as of February 2024.
