Sizzle is a pure-JavaScript CSS selector engine designed to be embedded into host libraries as a lightweight component. Built and maintained by the jQuery Organization, it provides CSS selector parsing and matching capabilities for web development. The project is written in JavaScript and uses Node.js, npm, and Grunt for building and testing, with support for multiple testing environments including Browserstack and PhantomJS.
