Nixfmt is the official formatter for the Nix language, maintained by the Nix formatting team. The project defines and implements a standard format for Nix code as specified in the project's standard documentation. Built in Haskell, nixfmt processes Nix files one at a time and can be integrated into various development workflows through editors like Neovim and Visual Studio Code, as well as through tools like treefmt, pre-commit, and git mergetool. The project was originally developed by Serokell before being donated to become an official Nix project.
