Tech stack & purpose

Wasmd is the first implementation of a Cosmos zone that enables WebAssembly smart contracts, built in Go on top of the Cosmos SDK framework. The project adds an `x/wasm` module to the Cosmos SDK and is forked from the cosmos/gaia repository, functioning as a standard Cosmos zone with the addition of smart contract capabilities. Wasmd is designed for developers building and deploying WebAssembly contracts in the Cosmos ecosystem, and it supports multiple contract capabilities across different versions while maintaining compatibility with the CosmWasm 1.0+ contract interface standards.
